Skej review: pricing, features and limits of the AI scheduling assistant

A refined email envelope and weekly calendar linked by a looping appointment ribbon, a magnifier over the task path and a modest blank price tag, an evidence-focused scheduling-assistant review.

Verdict: Skej is a good fit if you schedule many outside meetings from email threads. You cc an assistant, and it proposes times, follows up and sends the invite, from $15 per user per month on annual billing. It is a poor fit for inbound sales routing, CRM sync, payments and focus time, and we say where to go instead.

We make Skej. Every claim links to Skej’s own site or help center, we list the limits Skej’s own pages state, and we name competitors where they are better. We rate Skej against our rubric in words, with no numeric scores.

What Skej is

Skej is an AI scheduling assistant you add to email threads. You cc an assistant, such as lexy@skej.com or the default skej@skej.com, and it reads the thread, checks your calendar, proposes times, handles the replies, follows up, and sends the invite (Skej, Skej quick start).

It also includes:

Skej’s marketing says it is “100% AI” with “NO HUMANS IN THE LOOP” and that “No Skej employees ever read your emails or meeting details” (Skej, Skej for sales). Its AI and data policy is narrower: access to customer data is “restricted to authorized personnel and permitted only when necessary for customer support, troubleshooting, security, or legal compliance” (Skej AI and data policy). Skej is made by 3Gen Internet Corporation in New York and has processed millions of meetings.

How it compares on price:

What it does

The email assistant (Pro and up)

Guests on a Skej link can:

They can reschedule or cancel by replying to the confirmation email (Skej booking link help). Each link can have its own duration, buffers, availability and custom URL (Skej link setup help).

Skej can read a contact’s Calendly link and book the meeting from your calendar. It works with Calendly links only (Skej Calendly help).

Autobook for teams

When teammates use Skej, it can book internal meetings instantly from everyone’s calendars, “with any number of people,” as long as they’re all on your team. With external Skej users it proposes times for them to confirm. Non-users get a “connect your calendar” link (Skej Autobook help).

Text and WhatsApp

Add anything to your calendar

Forward an email, text a photo or send a voice note, and Skej adds the event and invites anyone you name (Skej add to calendar).

Calendars and settings

Limits and weak spots

Skej publishes a candid “best practices and boundaries” page (Skej boundaries). Combined with its other docs, here is what you should know:

  1. You can’t change settings by email. “Skej doesn’t modify scheduling preferences based on conversational requests.” If you write “never book me on Fridays,” it applies to that meeting only, “even if the assistant confirms the change.” Lasting rules go in settings or the Instructions and Memories page. Howie, by contrast, says you can update standing preferences by emailing or texting it (Howie docs).
  2. No priorities or bumping. Skej “does not prioritize one contact over another,” doesn’t bump lower-priority meetings, and doesn’t reshuffle your calendar. It asks you. Some competitors advertise this. Clara, for example, lists “priority contacts” among its preferences (Clara).
  3. No relationship memory. Skej “Does not track VIP status” and “only stores timezone and required scheduling metadata.”
  4. Time zones need a heads-up. “If meeting participants are in different time zones, inform your assistant. Otherwise, proposed times may work for you but inconvenience others” (Skej quick start). Calendly’s link detects the invitee’s time zone automatically (Calendly time zones).
  5. The host must be on the thread. If someone emails the assistant asking to meet you without copying you, Skej won’t respond.
  6. Text and WhatsApp are one-to-one. No group texts or WhatsApp groups. External meetings requested by text get coordinated by email.
  7. No CRM, ATS, payments or routing. None of these appear on Skej’s site. Sales and recruiting teams that need records written back to Salesforce, HubSpot or an ATS should look elsewhere.
  8. No focus time. Buffers and daily caps are the closest feature. Reclaim is built for focus time (Reclaim pricing).
  9. Free plan has no assistant. The trial is short: 7 days or 3 meetings.
  10. Custom instructions are unpredictable at first. Skej says they “may not behave perfectly initially,” and rules about one person can affect other meetings, so try them on low-stakes meetings before relying on them.

Security and privacy

One thing to know: Skej’s sales pages say your data is “never stored,” while its trust page describes deleting stored data within 30 days (Skej for sales, Skej trust). The trust page is the more precise statement.

How Skej fits the rubric

These are editorial judgments in words, not scores, using the qualitative considerations in our rubric.

Whether the documented capabilities cover the job Covers email scheduling, follow-ups, reschedules, group threads, booking links and Autobook for teams. Does not document focus time, CRM or ATS sync, payments, routing or contact priorities.
What the vendor says about quality and results Skej’s pages make claims (100+ languages, “no humans in the loop”) but publish no results figures. Its own boundaries page lists several limits, which is to its credit.
Price for what you get Strong. Pro at $15 per user per month on annual billing is a low flat price for an assistant you cc.
Where it works (email, text, phone, calendar) Email, text and WhatsApp (paid plans), Google and Outlook calendars. Exchange is not listed.
Privacy, security and admin controls SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and CCPA listed; roles and admin approval on paid plans. Some marketing lines conflict with its own policy, noted above.
