**Short answer:** [OpenAssistant](https://openassistant.us/ai-scheduling-assistant?utm_source=aiassistantsforwork\&utm_medium=content\&utm_campaign=best-ai-scheduling-assistants-2026) is an assistant we recommend. It is the one assistant here that documents email, text, Slack and phone, group and multi-time-zone meetings, an executive-assistant mode (Coordinator Mode), and SOC 2 Type II security. Reclaim is the best free start, Calendly is the best booking-link tool, and Howie is the pick if you mainly want to text or iMessage your assistant. Skej, also ours, is the low-cost option for email.

## What counts as an "AI scheduling assistant"

Three kinds of products sell under this label. They do different jobs.

1. **Calendar optimizers**, such as Reclaim and Motion. They rearrange your own calendar: focus time, tasks and movable meetings. They don't email the other person for you.
2. **Booking links with AI added**, such as Calendly. The other person picks a slot. Some now add an AI helper on top.
3. **Assistants you cc**, such as Howie, Skej, Blockit, Clara and OpenAssistant. You copy them on an email, and they negotiate a time with the other person in plain language, then send the invite.

If you mostly meet people inside your company, an optimizer or a booking link may be all you need. If you book a lot of meetings with outsiders who won't click a link, an assistant you cc saves the most back-and-forth.

## Our ranking

This order rests on what each vendor's own pages, documentation, pricing and published terms say. It is an editorial judgment, considered qualitatively for this use case:

- Whether the documented capabilities cover the job
- What the vendor says about quality and results, and who backs it up
- Price for what you get
- Where it works (email, text, phone, Slack, calendar)
- Privacy, security and admin controls

We recommend trying OpenAssistant for the range of work described on its pages: it takes email, text, Slack and phone, handles group and multi-time-zone meetings, offers Coordinator Mode for executive assistants, lets you set autonomy per kind of work, and lists SOC 2 Type II. Competitors do better on price. Reclaim has a free plan and Calendly costs $10 per seat, so if you only need a calendar optimizer or a link, start with them. Howie follows the two for its channels (email, iMessage and SMS) and low entry price. Skej is a low-price email assistant with documented limits. Blockit and Clara come after on price per meeting.

### 1. OpenAssistant (our product)

**Best for:** anyone who wants one assistant for scheduling plus inbox, research and recurring tasks, reachable by email, text, Slack or phone. It's an assistant you cc like Howie, Skej, Blockit and Clara.

- **How it works.** You cc an assistant that has its own email address and phone number. It proposes times, handles group and multi-time-zone meetings, reschedules, and follows up "on a cadence you set" ([OpenAssistant scheduling](https://openassistant.us/ai-scheduling-assistant)).
- **Calendars.** Google Calendar and Outlook ([OpenAssistant scheduling](https://openassistant.us/ai-scheduling-assistant)).
- **Where it works.** Email, text, Slack or in the app ([OpenAssistant pricing FAQ](https://openassistant.us/pricing)). Its homepage says it makes and receives phone calls ([OpenAssistant](https://openassistant.us/)).
- **Coordinator Mode.** An executive assistant or coordinator can schedule for a principal using the principal's calendar and preferences ([Coordinator Mode](https://help.openassistant.us/en/articles/15424173-coordinator-mode)).
- **Autonomy.** You set how much it does alone for each kind of work: ask first, hold for review, or autonomous ([OpenAssistant scheduling](https://openassistant.us/ai-scheduling-assistant)).
- **Contact priorities.** You can mark contacts VIP, Standard or Flexible ([OpenAssistant help](https://help.openassistant.us/en/articles/16302724-advanced-scheduling-with-openassistant)).
- **Price.** Credit-based. Starter is free with 1,000 credits at signup, plus 100 bonus credits a day once those are used up, up to 1,000 a month. Pro is $60 per user per month on annual billing or $72 monthly. Team is $100 or $120 per user per month ([OpenAssistant pricing](https://openassistant.us/pricing); per-user pricing confirmed by 3Gen).
- **Security.** SOC 2 Type II, and data is not used for training ([OpenAssistant trust](https://openassistant.us/trust)).

**Where competitors do better:** price. If you only need scheduling, it costs several times more per user than Skej ($15) or Calendly ($10), and its pricing page says coordinating a meeting across several people uses "hundreds" of credits.

**Why it's still our recommendation:** no other product here documents email, text, Slack, phone, groups, time zones, Coordinator Mode and per-task autonomy in one place, and the Starter plan lets you try it free.

### 2. Reclaim

**Best for:** most people who want AI help with their calendar and want to start free.

- **Focus time and flexible events.** Reclaim protects focus time toward a weekly goal, places recurring habits in flexible windows, and gives you individual, team, round robin and one-off booking links ([Reclaim pricing](https://reclaim.ai/pricing), [Reclaim 2.0 FAQ](https://help.reclaim.ai/en/articles/15280604-reclaim-2-0-faq)).
- **Calendars.** Google Calendar and Outlook ([Reclaim 2.0 FAQ](https://help.reclaim.ai/en/articles/15280604-reclaim-2-0-faq)).
- **Price.**
 - The free Lite plan includes focus time, habits and one booking link.
 - Starter is $10 per seat per month on annual billing, or $12 monthly.
 - Business is $15 or $18 ([Reclaim pricing](https://reclaim.ai/pricing)).
- **Security.** SOC 2 Type II ([Reclaim security](https://reclaim.ai/security)).

**Where it falls short:** it doesn't email external people to negotiate a time. Its current docs say Smart Meetings "never reschedule automatically" and suggest new times instead ([Reclaim 2.0 FAQ](https://help.reclaim.ai/en/articles/15280604-reclaim-2-0-faq)).

### 3. Calendly

**Best for:** anyone whose meetings start with "here's my link."

- **Booking links.** One-on-one, group, collective and round robin event types, meeting polls on every plan, and routing forms on Teams ([Calendly pricing](https://calendly.com/pricing)). It detects the invitee's time zone automatically ([Calendly time zones](https://calendly.com/help/time-zones-overview)).
- **Calendars.** Google, Office 365 or Outlook.com, and Exchange ([Calendly help](https://calendly.com/help/connect-your-calendar-to-calendly)).
- **Callie.** Calendly's new AI assistant: you add <callie@calendly.com> to an email and it suggests times and books. It's in beta, English only, and limited to one-on-one meetings. It books within your existing availability and asks you first before making an exception or changing a confirmed meeting ([Calendly AI assistant](https://calendly.com/ai-assistant)).
- **Price.**
 - Free plan available.
 - Standard is $10 per seat per month on annual billing ($12 monthly).
 - Callie needs Standard Plus at $18 annual or $24 monthly, or Teams Plus at $24 or $32 ([Calendly pricing](https://calendly.com/pricing)).
- **Security.** SOC 2 Type 2, SOC 3, ISO/IEC 27001 and more ([Calendly security](https://calendly.com/security)).

**Where it falls short:** Callie is new and only handles one-on-one meetings. For groups, Calendly itself recommends using a link instead ([Callie how-to](https://calendly.com/help/how-to-schedule-with-callie)).

### 4. Howie

**Best for:** founders and executives who want an assistant they can also text or iMessage.

- **How it works.** You loop Howie in on email, iMessage or SMS. It "Finds times across messy group threads," creates booking links, follows up, protects focus time, and adds holds, buffers and travel time ([Howie](https://howie.com/)).
- **Price.**
 - Team starts at $25 a month for 1,250 shared credits, with unlimited teammates.
 - An assistant email at your own domain is a $20-a-month add-on.
 - New accounts get $25 in free credits ([Howie pricing](https://howie.com/#pricing)).
 - Howie doesn't publish how many credits a meeting uses.
- **Security.** Its homepage and trust center list SOC 2 Type II ([Howie](https://howie.com/), [Howie Trust Center](https://app.vanta.com/howie.ai/trust/g5wd6jqs1x5a632e9ftzv)).

**Where it falls short:** Outlook support is unclear. Howie's homepage shows only Google Calendar and Gmail, and its how-it-works document says it "currently only works with Google Calendar" (parts of that document are out of date, so ask Howie if you use Outlook) ([Howie docs](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YdDvJS74NX1exs1or8xnTDocvy5l59cb8MuGa1WERAo/edit)).

### 5. Skej (our product)

**Best for:** people who book many external meetings by email and want an assistant you cc for $15 per user per month on annual billing.

- **How it works.** You cc an assistant (such as <lexy@skej.com>) on a thread. It proposes times from your calendar, follows up, and sends the invite ([Skej](https://skej.com/)).
- **Text and WhatsApp.** On paid plans you can also text it or message it on WhatsApp. Skej's docs say those channels are for managing your own calendar; requests that involve other people go out by email ([Skej pricing](https://skej.com/pricing), [Skej boundaries](https://skej.com/help/getting-started/best-practices-and-boundaries)).
- **Calendars.** Google and Outlook ([Skej pricing](https://skej.com/pricing)).
- **Price.**
 - Free plan: 1 booking link and no assistant.
 - Pro: $15 per user per month on annual billing, $19 monthly.
 - Premium: $23 or $29, which adds custom assistants and a BCC mode ([Skej pricing](https://skej.com/pricing)).
 - New accounts get a 7-day Premium trial that ends after 7 days or 3 booked meetings, whichever comes first ([Skej plans help](https://skej.com/help/subscriptions-and-billing/subscription-plan-options)).
 - Sarra, a smaller assistant you cc, lists the same $15 per seat on annual billing for its Silver plan, capped at 20 meetings a month ([Sarra pricing](https://sarra.ai/pricing)).
- **Security.** SOC 2 Type II, and data is not used for training ([Skej trust](https://skej.com/trust)).

**Where competitors do better:**

- **No prioritizing.** Skej's own docs say it doesn't prioritize VIP contacts and doesn't reshuffle existing meetings on its own. It asks you instead ([Skej boundaries](https://skej.com/help/getting-started/best-practices-and-boundaries)). Clara lets you set priority contacts.
- **Time zones need a heads-up.** Its quick start tells you to say when participants are in other time zones, "Otherwise, proposed times may work for you but inconvenience others" ([Skej quick start](https://skej.com/help/getting-started/quick-email-start-guide)).
- **No focus time.** It doesn't protect focus time. Reclaim does, and Howie says it does too.

### 6. Blockit

**Best for:** trying an assistant you cc for free, and teams that schedule in Slack.

- **How it works.** You cc Blockit on email or loop it into Slack. You choose an autonomy level, from reviewing everything to full autopilot. It works with Google or Outlook calendars ([Blockit](https://www.blockit.com/)).
- **Price.**
 - Free: 15 meetings a month.
 - Lite: 40 meetings a month, $83 a month on annual billing or $145 monthly.
 - Infinity: unlimited meetings, $395 or $495 ([Blockit pricing](https://www.blockit.com/pricing)).
 - Every plan starts with a 30-day trial.
- **Security.** SOC 2 Type II. The report itself is offered on Enterprise ([Blockit](https://www.blockit.com/), [Blockit pricing](https://www.blockit.com/pricing)).

**Where it falls short:** paid plans start at $83 a month on annual billing, far above Skej or Howie, and a custom domain is Enterprise only.

### 7. Clara

**Best for:** Outlook and Exchange shops that want a long-running assistant you cc.

- **How it works.** You cc Clara. It coordinates multi-person, multi-time-zone meetings, and it works with "Google Workspace and Microsoft Outlook and Exchange" ([Clara](https://www.claralabs.com/)).
- **Preferences.** You can set priority contacts, buffers and meeting types ([Clara pricing](https://www.claralabs.com/pricing/)).
- **Price.** Standard is $80 a month for 30 meetings. A free plan covers 5 meetings, which Clara frames as a way to try it in 14 days ([Clara pricing](https://www.claralabs.com/pricing/)).

**Where it falls short:** price per meeting is high. Also, its marketing says "No human at Clara ever reads your emails," but its privacy policy says engineers may review emails "for the purposes of debugging technical issues and quality assurance" ([Clara privacy](https://www.claralabs.com/legal/privacy/)). Read the policy if that matters to you.

### 8. Motion

**Best for:** people who want an AI to plan tasks and meetings together.

- **What it does.** Motion schedules your tasks around meetings and has booking pages ([Motion pricing](https://www.usemotion.com/pricing)). It supports Google, Outlook and iCloud calendars ([Motion providers](https://www.usemotion.com/help/time-management/all-things-calendars/reference-all-things-calendars/supported-providers.md)).
- **Price.** No free plan. Pro AI is $19 per seat per month on annual team billing, or $29 a month for one person on annual billing.

**Where it falls short:** it's a project tool first. It won't negotiate a time with an outside guest. See our Reclaim vs Motion comparison.

### 9. Built into your suite: Gemini in Gmail and Copilot in Outlook

**Best for:** people whose company already pays for these.

- **Gemini "Help me schedule."** It suggests times while you draft a reply, and creates the event when the recipient picks one ([Gmail help](https://support.google.com/mail/answer/16865189?hl=en)). It supports one-on-one and group meetings on eligible Workspace and Google AI plans ([Google help](https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/16865706?hl=en)).
- **Copilot in Outlook.** It can build an invite from a thread ("Schedule with Copilot"). Chat scheduling handles "up to two other people." Both need a Copilot work license ([Microsoft FAQ](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/frequently-asked-questions-about-copilot-in-outlook-07420c70-099e-4552-8522-7d426712917b)).

**Where they fall short:** neither one is an assistant you cc. You still send the email and handle the replies.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best AI scheduling assistant in 2026?

On public information, we rank OpenAssistant first for the breadth of what it documents: email, text, Slack and phone, group meetings, time zones, Coordinator Mode and SOC 2 Type II. Reclaim is the better choice if you want a free calendar optimizer, and Calendly if you mostly use booking links.

Yes. Reclaim's Lite plan is free. Blockit's free plan covers 15 meetings a month. OpenAssistant's Starter plan is free with 1,000 credits at signup, plus 100 bonus credits a day once those are used up, up to 1,000 a month.

### What is an assistant you cc?

It is an AI with its own email address. You copy it on a thread, and it proposes times to the other person in plain language, then sends the invite. Howie, Skej, Blockit, Clara and OpenAssistant work this way.

### Do these assistants work with Outlook?

Reclaim, Skej, Blockit, OpenAssistant and Clara list Outlook. Calendly also lists Exchange. Howie's pages show only Google, so check with Howie first.
